About the Department
Three-year postgraduate course (M.D.) is conducted in the department. Under the department, subjects like Charak Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Sangrah, Ashtanga Hridaya, History of Ayurveda, Material Science, Sanskrit etc. are taught.
The department has its own library. Departmental seminars are organized every week in the department.

Vision: To preserve, propagate, and scientifically interpret the fundamental principles of Ayurveda encoded in ancient classical texts.
Mission: To instill a deep understanding of the Samhitas (classical treatises) and Darshanas (philosophies), forming the strong foundational bedrock for all clinical practices in Ayurveda.
