The Department of Rachana Sharir at Government Ayurveda College, Rewa (M.P), is
a foundational unit in the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) curriculum.
It focuses on imparting comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, integrating both
traditional Ayurvedic perspectives and modern scientific understanding.
Rachana Sharir, or Human Anatomy, is a core subject in the first year of the BAMS program. The department emphasizes the study of body structures as described in classical. Ayurvedic texts, such as the Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita, alongside modern anatomical concepts. Key areas of study include embryology (Garbha Sharir), histology, osteology, organology, and the understanding of vital points (Marma) and channels (Srotas).
Infrastructure :-
Dissection Hall :- Equipped for cadaveric dissection, providing students with hands-on experience in understanding human anatomy.
Anatomy Museum :- Houses a variety of specimens, models, and charts to aid in the study of body structures.
Departmental Library :- Contains a collection of books and resources related to anatomy and Ayurveda.
The department is staffed by qualified and experienced faculty members who guide students through both theoretical and practical aspects of Rachana Sharir. Government Ayurvedic College, Rewa was established in 1973 and the college is affiliated to Medical Science University Jabalpur. The institute has comprehensive facilities for teaching, inexhaustible resources for medical and allied research and provides credible patient care.
